As “This is My Fathers World” plays in the background. It reminds me of all the times I’ve taken the kids out for a nature walk. There are so many wonderful things we can learn about our Creator, from nature.
The song goes on and says “He speaks to me everywhere” . When we go outside, we find there are so many examples of God’s goodness and His faithfulness. The truth of Scripture is right in front of us. Yes, He does speak to us everywhere from the animals to the grass itself.
Isaiah 40:8 says “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
In Autumn, as your bring up this verse, you can show the children the dying grass and the fading flowers and let them see first hand the truth of the verse.
I love to pull out God’s truths, through His creation. It’s a good way to make His word come alive, even to the youngest child.
In Genesis 9:13 God talks about placing a rainbow in the sky as a promise He would never flood the earth again. “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” It’s what I always think of, when I see a rainbow. I hope my children think of that promise too.
From the beginning when Adam named every critter in Genesis 2:20a.
“So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. ”
You will find God’s truth about nature throughout all the Bible. God is the ruler over His creation. He, I believe made it so wonderful that we would enjoy it and return praise back to Him for every part of what He gave us.
I can only imagine what the Garden of Eden was like. It’s fun to hear my children discuss their personal images of what they think it was like. To hear them discuss anything that God made, and then to understand and believe it all came from Him, was my whole goal!
Thank you Lord, for the truth found in Your Holy Word!
